IMPROVEMENT IN THE MODE OF COMMUNICATING INFORMATION BY SIGNALS BY THE APPLICATION OF ELECTROMAGNETISM
SAMUEL F.B. MORSE
A relay is an electrical mechanism for modulating alternating current.
Rhine Experiments were conducted to test extra-sensory-perception. Series of subjects were asked to identify symbol and the pattern on the other side of a series of zener cards. The experimenters found that the results were disproportionately skewed, being effect size orders of magnitude over the 1/5 probabilities. The Rhine experiments were critcized due to a sufficiently small sample size, however given the prevalence of vitalist philosophies, conceiving of organic relays strikes Ameriacans as foreign. According to a 1990 Gallup Poll, 49% of U.S. adults believe in extra-sensory-perception. In 1978, 37% of U.S. adults believed in precognition, which is the ability to recollect events in the future.
