Die genannte Frage ist heute in Vergessenheit gekommen, obzwar unsere Zeit sich als Fortschritt anrechnet, die »Metaphysik« wieder zu bejahen. Gleichwohl hält man sich der Anstrengungen einer neu zu entfachenden γιγαντομαχια περι της ουσιας für enthoben. Dabei ist die angerührte Frage doch keine beliebige. Sie hat das Forschen von Plato und Aristoteles in Atem gehalten, um freilich auch von da an zu verstummen – als thematische Frage wirklicher Untersuchung.

The interpretation raised as arbitrary captivates the reinterpretations of Plato and Aristotle in silence regarding the structure in inquiry.
